Welcome to Mama Jana Playgroup!

Mama Jana Playgroup is a non-profit organization created to increase the exposure of urban children, youth and their families to educational, social and cultural activities. 

Our mission is steeped in the tradition of our Swahili name, Mother’s Healthy Child.  We aim to enrich the lives of families that lead busy lives by increasing the educational
and social opportunities for children through our outings and events, while building
a strong network of progressive parents committed to “creating the village”.

What We Do

Mama Jana is unique in that we are a traveling interactive playgroup that takes us out of the home and into various communities. We promote educational and fun learning
opportunities that permit greater exposure and socialization experiences than our
children would otherwise receive. We encourage parent participation and welcome member ideas.
